Are you looking to improve your relationship with your child(ren)? Heartland 180 is teaming up with PACES to present The Parent Project®, free parenting classes for parents of middle school and high school-aged youth.
The 10-week course is focused on helping to reduce family conflict and address difficult and destructive behaviors among youth. Over the course of 10 weeks, class facilitators will lead discussions and provide concrete solutions related to a number of key challenges that parents of pre-teens and teenagers face.
“Being a parent of a teenager is not an easy job,” says Monica Enriquez, class facilitator for The Parent Project®. "If your teen is facing additional challenges such as using drugs, having unhealthy relationships, being aggressive, missing school or isolating, you need to have the tools to support them. The Parent Project® program will give you ideas on how to help your teen and be a positive influence in their decision-making process.”
Classes will be offered in English (beginning January 17) and in Spanish (beginning January 19) and continue each Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. through the middle of March. Classes will be held at 1301 North 47th Street, Kansas City, KS 66102. Dinner and childcare will be provided.
